March 2013

River Tees Port Health Authority are proud to announce that they have been recognised for transforming the way the Authority operates on behalf of the four Tees Valley Councils. At the annual Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council PRIDE awards (Positive Results in Delivering Excellence), we won the Area Management Directorate Award.

Thanks to the work of the team, we have forged excellent relationships with PD Ports, importers and shipping agents from across the world. Our work has enabled the port to be awarded Designated Point of Entry (DPE) status, which will increase trade, secure jobs and provide inward investment into the Tees Valley. Our website was described as exemplar for streamlining information to our stakeholders, and we have been recognised by the Food Standards Agency for our 'Excellent' import control service.

Changes to the Teesport status

We are very proud to announce that Teesport is now a Designated Point of Entry (DPE) for official controls on imports of certain feed and food of non-animal origin as described in Commission Regulation (EC) No 669/2009.

Further details will be uploaded to the website in due course, however, should you require any further information on importing requirements under these regulations, please do not hesitate to contact us.
